Tucked
in the back of the Route 3 Industrial Park in Weymouth, the
Melville Candy Co. has been around in various locations since
1978, when Melville's father, Gary, launched the business from his
Quincy home. The candy has been sold by vendors like Crate &
Barrel, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Bloomingdale's and the Excalibur
Casino in Las Vegas. Former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld took
200 of the cherry-flavored lobster pops to children in Hokkaido,
Japan, in 1991. Melville's heart-shaped lollipops are featured on
the cover of the February issue of Better Homes and Gardens
magazine.
